Pac Rim EngineersNo movie this year—hell, maybe any year—has unleashed the sheer amount of promotional material as Guillermo del Toro’s giant monsters-versus-giant-mechs adventure, Pacific Rim. Seemingly every single day we get a new picture, poster, or image. We got one yesterday, and the day before. Now the viral campaign has unleashed yet another new piece of propaganda. This one presents an interesting potential career opportunity: Giant Mech Manufacturer (or, if you’ll forgive us, “Jaeger Meister”).

When massive beasts called Kaiju emerge from the depths of the ocean—via a portal into another dimension—the human race creates giant robots called Jaegers to combat the menace. Given the size and scale of these machines, you can bet that there is a great need for engineers to design them. If you have the necessary qualifications, this could be you. What better way to put all that education to use that in helping design and build giant metal monstrosities?

If you haven’t already, you should check out panpacificdefense.com, which is home to a bunch of cool Pacific Rim schwag. There are posters, trailers, blueprints for various Jaegers, and even some partially redacted government documents with information about the Kaiju infestation. For a couple you’ll need to be fluent in languages other than English, like French or Spanish, but there’s some fun stuff to sift through.

With the tide of the war turning, humanity may be reaching the end of our collective rope. As it turns out, a washed-up pilot (Charlie Hunnam), an untested rookie (Rinko Kikuchi), and an out-of-date Jaeger could be our last chance for survival.

The PG-13 Pacific Rim opens on July 12th.
