Ever since The Hulk stole the show at the end of The Avengers, general audiences and comic book fans alike are eagerly waiting for Marvel Studios to announce they would be making a movie starring “The Big Guy.” There have been some rumors that suggest Marvel would make a live-action movie version of Planet Hulk and World War Hulk at the end of Phase II of the Marvel Cinematic Universe leading into Phase III. Joss Whedon has since dismissed those rumors, but now the Hulk himself — actor Mark Ruffalo — has weighed in.

Ruffalo took to Twitter to let people know what he thinks of the prospect of a Planet Hulk movie. Read his tweet below:

The Avengers 2 isn’t due in theaters until 2015, so it’s unlikely we’ll see The Hulk in his own standalone movie between now and then. But Planet Hulk and World War Hulk would theoretically take place after the Avengers sequel, not before it. The Hulk would crash land on planet Sakaar after The Avengers 2, then he would have his own standalone film with Planet Hulk, and then the World War Hulk storyline would play heavily in The Avengers 3 during Marvel’s Cinematic Universe Phase III.

Of course, Marvel could genuinely have no plans for adaptations of Planet Hulk or World War Hulk. Last week, there were some reports stating that suggested that to be the case. The reports also pointed to Mark Ruffalo’s six-picture deal with Marvel to play Bruce Banner and the Hulk. If Marvel went the Planet Hulk route, Bruce Banner would most likely be featured in those films very little, if at all.
