Man Auditions For Every Bad Science Fiction Movie Ever Made

Whenever someone starts off a video by claiming to be a huge science fiction fan, it’s pretty safe to assume that they’re not. It’s sort of like a racist who starts off his hateful diatribe by telling you he has a lot of black friends. He doesn’t. And this self-professed science fiction fan in this video, probably isn’t.

That doesn’t mean he isn’t hilarious. Jake Fleisher is his name and he says he’s auditioning for every science fiction movie ever made. Watch…

Jake may claim he’s auditioning for every sci-fi movie ever made, but as actual SF fans you and I know that what he’s really doing is auditioning for every bad science fiction movie ever made and then applying those awful cliches to the entire genre. It’s kind of like re-enacting Gigli while claiming you’re doing Heat.

I saw a Star Trek reference quoting Doctor Who – although they may have reversed the polarity too at some point. (Both shows have referenced each other. ST:TNG mentions a sonic screwdriver and the names of Doctor Who actors appeared on a terminal – “The Neutral Zone.” More recent Doctor Who episodes mention Star Trek.) You have a science officer who seems lost on cultural info (like music). You also have a science officer rattling off things no one understands.

There are the planets dying for whatever reason – lack of natural resources, sun going supernova. Not really stated here.

Aliens taking control of people or converting people or replacing people (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Invaders From Mars, I Married A Monster From Outer Space).
