It’s no secret that Mad Max: Fury Road is one of our most anticipated upcoming movies. George Miller’s return to the post-apocalyptic landscape he created in the late 1970s and 1980s may have taken a long, bumpy road—one fraught with many delays, budget overruns, and acts of god—but the film is finally in the can, and we’re getting ourselves ready for some high-octane action.

Cars have been at the center of every Mad Max movie so far, and Fury Road is no different. Badass improvised battlewagons tearing around the desert wastes is what these movies are all about. Here’s a quick video glimpse at the latest version of Max Rockatansky’s souped-up Pursuit Special, complete with thunderous V8 engine.

The role of Max was, of course, made famous by Mel Gibson, but in Fury Road Tom Hardy gets a turn at the wheel. His ride looks suitably dirty and beat up for a vehicle that patrols the grim frontier wasteland. The intricate and authentic level of detail will go a long way towards selling the world.

It wouldn’t be a true look at the V8 Interceptor without taking a moment to gawk at the supercharger. Did we mention that this particular supercharger actually works? Because it does.

We’ve seen photos and images of the various vehicles that will populate Fury Road, but few are as exciting as these. Sure, between the two videos there is only about 30 combined seconds of footage, but it certainly is more than enough to get your post-apocalyptic hot rod juices flowing.
