This Mad Max: Fury Road International Trailer May Burn Off Your Eyebrows

If you’re anything like us, you’re also frothing at the mouth, practically rabid to finally lay eyes on George Miller’s long awaited return to the post-apocalyptic wastes in Mad Max: Fury Road. In the works for years (principal photography wrapped so long ago that we put it on our most anticipated movies of 2013 list), it still doesn’t open until May 15, which feels like a long ways off, but to help you pass the time, there’s this explosive new Japanese trailer.
We’ll have to wait and see if the movie lives up to the hype, but it we’re judging Fury Road based solely on the trailers, this is going to be amazing. Seriously, the footage we’ve seen has badass post-apocalyptic battlewagons, crazy ass stunts, gnarly looking dudes swinging from vehicle to vehicle at great speeds, explosions, classical music, and they just look nuts. And this new look is no exception.
Granted, this is pretty similar to what we’ve seen before—there are a few new bits mixed in—albeit in a truncated version with slightly different editing, but who the hell cares? Clocking in at just over a minute, this is 67 seconds worth of chaos, mayhem, and action. It’s hard to imagine I’ll get more excited for any other movie this year, and that includes Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which I’m pretty pumped about. There’s not as much plot this time around, but the action is definitely in your in your face and about to scorch off your eyebrows.
MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is the fourth film of George Miller‘s Road Warrior/Mad Max franchise co-written and directed by Miller. The post-apocalyptic action film is set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life.
Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order… There’s Max (played by TOM HARDY from The Dark Knight Rises), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos.
And… Furiosa (played by CHARLIZE THERON from Prometheus), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.
Mad Max: Fury Road opens on May 15.
