One thing we never found out about the aftermath of the first Ghostbusters movie: what did they do with all those remnants of Stay-Puft? Is paranormal marshmallow fluff edible, or would chowing down on that stuff be a one-way ticket to demonic possession? Sadly, we’ll never know whether Gozer’s remains made for really excellent S’mores, but Krispy Kreme’s newly announced Ghostbusters 30th anniversary donuts might make for a decent consolation prize.

You’ll be able to get your filthy mitts on the Ghostbusters donuts beginning on September 29 at participating Krispy Kreme locations in the United States. There are two different varieties of the pastries: the straightforwardly named “Ghostbusters donut” and a marshmallow confection named after Stay-Puft (naturally). Here’s the official description from Krispy Kreme:

  • Ghostbusters Doughnut: A marshmallow Kreme-filled shell topped with white icing, a decorative green ‘splat’ inspired by Slimer’s green slime, and topped with a Ghostbusters logo sugar piece.
  • Stay Puft Marshmallow: A marshmallow Kreme-filled shell topped with white icing, decorated with a chocolate frosting Stay Puft Marshmallow Man face and a sugar piece hat.

If you find yourself frothing at the mouth to get your hands on Krispy Kreme’s Ghostbusters donuts, you can actually pre-order some, at least as long as you order five dozen or more. You can track down your local participating locations right here, and thus answer the rhetorical question, “Who you gonna call?” Just remember Wilford Brimley’s dire warnings about “diabeetus”; maybe share that five dozen with some friends instead of gorging yourself.
