Did Kate Beckinsale Almost Play The Three Breasted Hooker In Total Recall?
One of the more memorable moments in Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 sci-fi favorite Total Recall is the appearance of the three-breasted Martian hooker. A minor role that doesn’t get much screen time, that image was seared into a lot of pubescent minds. A big (okay, maybe not big, but fun) question surrounding Len Wiseman’s upcoming remake was, will the prostitute with the expanded rack make an appearance? And if so, how will they get away with that in a PG-13 movie?

When the Total Recall trailer landed a while back, this most vital question was answered with a resounding, “yes, there will be a prostitute with three boobs in this movie.” It remains to be seen how they pull that off, but just knowing she’ll be there warms many a heart. In a recent little interview with Maxim, star Kate Beckinsale let this slip:
At one point, when it looked like I wouldn’t be able to play Lori, I was going to do a cameo as the three-breasted woman…I started fretting about where they’d put the third one. Have I actually got room for a third one in the middle, or would it go to the side? Would it then be under an armpit and actually not sexy?
How legitimate a claim this actually is we will probably never know. Was it anything more than Wiseman (who is married to Beckinsale) throwing out a quick, “hey, want to play a three-breasted hooker in Total Recall?” over dinner, or was there serious discussion? It doesn’t actually matter, the idea alone is enough to make this an entertaining dollop of not quite news.
The rest of the interview, with Beckinsale and co-stars Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel, is similarly randy. At one point Farrell says, “She [Beckinsale] basically chokes me with her snatch.” Yeah, it’s that kind of party.
