Jurassic World Wraps Production And Teases A Hungry T-Rex

It’s still a long way off in the future, but Jurassic World, director Colin Trevorrow’s (Safety Not Guaranteed) upcoming fourth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise, is already one of our most anticipated films of 2015. And now we’re one step closer to seeing the film as primary production has wrapped up.
Trevorrow tweeted this awesome picture, which just features a clapboard surrounded by the massive jaws of what we’re pretty damn sure is a T-Rex—we knew the big guy would be back, but any confirmation to that effect is greatly appreciated. Accompanying this photo was the simple, one word message that just read, “Wrap.” Period included.
Now they get to go about the process of editing, adding in what we all expect to be a substantial amount of special effects, and all the various other post-production things that I don’t fully understand. There’s also the possibility that there could be reshoots and things of that nature as well. We’ll keep an eye out for that kind of situation, but for the moment at least, filming is apparently done.
There have been serious security issues on the set of Jurassic World. Not necessarily in a cast and crew safety kind of way, but as far as keeping the story details under wrap. A few months back there was a landslide of information leaked, including some outlandish sounding things in regards to the plot. Trevorrow himself came out a short time later and confirmed that these were in fact legitimate pieces of the puzzle, including the bit about a new genetically engineered dinosaur made from a combination of DNA from a T-Rex, Velociraptor, snake, and even a cuttlefish. That last one can camouflage itself, and I’m sure that will play a part in the mayhem. Since then, however, they’ve done a good job of getting out in front of rumors and providing fans with looks at their movie, all without revealing too much.
Jurassic World picks up 20-some years after the events of the first movie when John Hammond’s vision of a park full of actual dinosaurs has become a reality. In fact, despite being the most popular tourist destination in the world, it’s been open long enough for attendance to fall off substantially. To combat this, the money guys—the money guys are always evil, aren’t they—decide to play god and commission this new dino to bring visitors back to their park. There’s no way that could possibly go wrong, is there? I can’t wait to see rampaging dinosaurs chow down on delicious fleeing tourists, that sounds like so much fun.
Jurassic World is scheduled to open on June 12, 2015, and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Judy Greer, Jake Johnson, Vincent D’Onofrio, BD Wong, Omar Sy, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, and Irrfan Khan.
