jurassic worldWe’re anticipating the shit out of Jurassic World here at Giant Freakin’ Robot, and it seems like it’ll be another epoch before we get our eyes on it in theaters. Luckily, Colin Trevorrow’s long-gestating sequel won’t be the only way that fans can engage with the monstrously large theme park-gone-wrong, as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has teamed up with TT Games and The LEGO Group to unleash the LEGO Jurassic World video game on society. Get ready to take down the most dangerous beasts on the planet, brick by brick.

What’s more, there’s no need to wonder about whether or not Jurassic World has a story that’s large enough to earn its own video game, as LEGO Jurassic World will put players through the events of all four films! This will obviously be the first video game out there that allows people to play through the storylines of all the films in the Jurassic Park franchise. I cannot wait to see a commercial for this game where a glass of LEGO-block water quivers at the step of a hulking T-Rex.

Unfortunately, there’s no release date set for the game, which will come to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, the Xbox One and the Xbox 360, Nintendo’s Wii U and 3DS, and Windows systems. We know it’s coming this summer, though, as it will likely release soon after the film, so as not to have the game spoil anything for potential audiences.

And that’s not the only intriguing video game that Warner, LEGO and TT Games have cooked up. They’ve also got a LEGO Marvel’s Avengers game ready to take over superhero fanboys’ lives this fall, when players can take on their favorite characters in Marvel’s supersquad as they save the world from events taken from both Joss Whedon’s original film and the upcoming sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron. Man I hope they let James Spader voice Ultron in that game.

Additionally, gamers can expect to see LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin coming in March to the Playstation Vita and Nintendo 3DS. LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham is also coming this summer to mobile devices. And, of course, there’s the currently available The LEGO Movie Videogame.

We’re already waiting on that awesome looking Jurassic World LEGO set that’ll be coming out later this year. Perhaps we can just put those together with our feet while playing the video game with our hands. I bet that the genetically modified Indominus Rex.
