black mirrorJon Hamm is one of the most likable and comfortable to watch actors out there, and the U.K. series Black Mirror is one of the most exquisitely uncomfortable to watch series out there. The two are coming together for a very special Christmas episode, and we now have our first look at the episode. And yes, you guessed it, it will feature the esteemed actor talking to an egg-shaped device. Hamm and eggs? YES!

These images come to us from The Independent, who also let loose with synopses for what we can expect out of the 90-minute episode’s three segments. The wraparound portion will see two men having a holiday meal together and sharing stories. Matt (Hamm) is a jovial American who may be trying too hard to pick apart the layers of the reserved Potter (Rafe Spall). Is it possible that neither man is who he claims to be?

In one of the stories, Hamm offers his own unique brand of romantic guidance to another man who is more of a novice Casanova. In another, Game of Thrones star Oona Chaplin finds herself enraptured in a world of smart gadgets. And the last one, which definitely sounds like the most interesting one in this day and age, will take on the concept of “blocking” people in real life, the same way one would in social media and emails. Here’s hoping whatever concepts they use will be compatible with reality in a short amount of time. There are entirely too many people in my life feed.

All three stories connect to make an discomforting whole, which will also see Hamm putting aside his egg conversations and unbuttoning his top few shirt buttons. Why is he looking directly at us in the picture below? WHY?

And here we’ve got one with Spall enjoying a snowy day with a lady friend. We can assume that this is the happiest they’ll be in the entire episode.

Black Mirror, which has two three-episode seasons under its belt, is the creation of mad genius Charlie Brooker, who also wrote this Christmas special. U.K. viewers can find the episode airing on Channel 4 on December 16, while U.S. audiences will have to wait until Christmas night, when it’ll air on DirecTV’s Audience Network. Bah Hamm-bug.
