With production of Guardians of the Galaxy about to begin, it looks like Marvel and director James Gunn will have to look for another actor to play Drax the Destroyer. It turns out Game of Thrones‘ Jason Momoa turned down Marvel’s offer to play the resurrected alien.

According to IGN, Marvel has returned to screen-testing and auditioning new actors to play Drax the Destroyer. A few weeks ago, Marvel added Jason Momoa to the list of rumored contenders role, along with Isaiah Mustafa (the Old Spice guy), former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista (The Man With the Iron Fists), and Brian Patrick Wade (Generation Kill). It looks like it’s back to the drawing board for Marvel with Guardians of the Galaxy. A few weeks ago, Parks and Recreation star Chris Pratt was cast in the role of Star-Lord/Peter Quill, the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Guardians of the Galaxy will hit theaters everywhere on August 1, 2014 in 3D.
