Riddick5With San Diego Comic-Con quickly approaching, various movies are gearing up to have a significant presence at the massive event. After all, films have seemingly usurped the comics of its name as the primary focus of the geeky gathering. One of the upcoming science fiction films that is going to be well represented is Riddick, the third in the so-called “Furyan Chronicles,” which began with Pitch Black and continued with The Chronicles of Riddick. It’s going to bring some star power along for the ride, wrapped up in the muscles of one beefy action hero.

While the folks behind Riddick had already unveiled the Comic-Con exclusive poster they’ll have on hand, star Vin Diesel was pussy-footing around whether or not he would be in attendance this year. He teased that he might, or at least that he wanted to be there, but now, via his Facebook page — which he also uses to release posters, photos, and more from Riddick — he has confirmed that he will will be on hand to hype up the new sequel.

Diesel posted:

The long anticipated release of Riddick… the rated R continuation of the Furyan Chronicles, is now less than 3 months away…

September 6th… Imax!

I tell you this my people, because without your voice, it would have never come to pass.
P.s. San Diego Comic-Con International 2013, July 19… see you there.

That sounds pretty solid, or at least as solid as anything anyone posts to Facebook can be. We’ve all posted things we don’t entirely mean.

So if you’re one of the lucky, not to mention brave, attendees of Comic-Con 2013, you just may get to see a big, bald, sci-fi star wandering around the premises. If you see him, make sure you ask him about Riddick and his love of Dungeons & Dragons.
