With the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie hitting theaters this summer, rumor has it we’ll see the first full trailer next week. If that still seems to far away, fear not: new concept art and test footage from Guardians has popped up online, featuring Rocket Raccoon and Groot being badasses.

The test footage comes via Uproxx.com’s Gemma Squad. It shows Rocket Raccoon firing a semi-automatic weapon while perched on top of Groot, with the tree-like alien screaming and looking menacing, just like The Hulk. Needless to say, the below videos and GIFs look amazing! While this is just a small taste of the action featured in Guardians of the Galaxy, something must be said for the sheer imagination behind the film.

The below tweet from writer Brett White pretty much says it all about the rivalry between Marvel and DC Comics.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that the first teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy might drop next week, on February 18. Yahoo! Singapore accidentally tweeted the date for the trailer premiere, before quickly taking it down.

With Captain America: The Winter Soldier due in theaters this April, it seems inevitable that Marvel Studios will screen some footage of Guardians before that sequel film. Marvel did the exact same thing with footage from Captain America 2, which was attached to screenings of Thor: The Dark World last November.

Finally, Hasbro has released the first images (via Yahoo!) of the cosmic team of peacekeepers in toy form. The images below are from Hasbro’s booth at the New York Toy Fair 2014. Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot all look like their movie counterparts, while each action figure is deeply textured and colored. Each toy will set you back $19.99 each and will be released this July.

As for the Guardians movie itself, the film follows Peter Quill, a half-human, half-alien former astronaut who finds himself in the middle of a galaxy-wide manhunt after he steals a mysterious orb, believed to be the Mind Infinity Gem. In order to escape, he is forced into an uneasy alliance with a group of cosmic misfits and outlaws. When he learns of the orb’s true power, he must rally his new team to save the galaxy from a mysterious new threat, the Kree Empire and Ronan the Accuser.

Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Benicio del Toro, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Michael Rooker, Olivia Lovibond, John C. Reilly, and Glenn Close. The film opens in theaters everywhere on August 1.
