Godzilla PosterSo far 2013 has been, and looks to continue to be, a damn strong year for science fiction. Two of the most exciting, Elysium and Pacific Rim, are still to come. It also appears that this trend will continue well into 2014 and beyond. The Licensing Expo is going down right now in Las Vegas, and all the big players are there, looking to cross promote their upcoming projects and squeeze out every last marketing buck. We also have a first look at a number of promotional posters for a ton of movies for you to get pumped about.

The gallery includes movies like Godzilla, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Cosmos, Jurassic Park IV, Transformers 4, Divergent, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and the 30th Anniversary of Ghostbusters. There are also a ton of other non-sci-fi films represented, but why would you want to see any of those? (Kidding, we also love movies that have nothing to do with science fiction.)

Most of these posters don’t reveal much about the particular movies, there is little more to them than titles and logos. Still, some of them feature targeted release dates, and it’s always nice to have a concrete date to get excited about. This is basically just an excuse for us to start salivating over movies that are still a long, long way off. But when has an excessive wait ever stopped us from getting excited about anything? I’ve been excited for hoverboards since 1989, and we don’t appear to be any closer to seeing those in real life.
