So, Mad Max: Fury Road is in progress. George Miller’s long-delayed return to the post-apocalyptic wastes is currently filming in Namibia. News, photos, and all sorts of fun bits keep popping up all over the place, and now a new handful of images from the set have appeared.

The first two provide an expanded view of the ones that surfaced yesterday. Those images showed what looked like a jerry-rigged, desert-shredding muscle car, but when you pull back you see that the shell of the car is actually mounted on top of a much larger vehicle. The body of the car is like room welded to the top of a battle-ready semi truck.

Just looking at this fortress on wheels leads the mind to concoct all manner of action-heavy scenarios. Don’t you envision this truck barreling down a dusty stretch of highway? A swarm of smaller, faster, more maneuverable vehicles dart around. Shoulder-pad-wearing guys with Mohawks try to leap onto the truck, only to fall and be crushed beneath the wheels.

The next photo gives a glimpse at the female presence in Fury Road. What little is known of the plot revolves around “Five Wives” that Max Rockatansky (played in this installment by Tom Hardy) has to transport and/or protect in some capacity. The women in this picture—Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, and Adelaide Clemens—star as four of those wives.

The events of Mad Max: Fury Road supposedly take place a short time after the events of Beyond Thunderdome. Not sure if that’s widely known information or not, but it certainly is new to me, especially considering that the film has been referred to as “not a sequel” numerous times. No matter when this is set, it will be interesting to see Hardy’s take on the Max character.

In Fury Road you will also encounter Charlize Theron as a character named Furiosa, and Nicholas Hoult as someone named Nux. People always have the best names after civilization collapses, and those are up there with Humungus.
