Full Riddick Cast List And Updated Plot Synopsis

It’s looking like this whole Riddick thing is going to be a reality as star Vin Diesel continues to share set photos via Facebook of the movie. Personally I keep being surprised every few months when a new slew of images and plot discussions take place, as I feel there was no one else in the world who enjoyed Chronicles. Somehow David Twohy and Diesel have convinced not only a production company, but many former cast members to return. Things are looking a lot more steampunkish with Riddick on the throne, and we now have a detailed plot synopsis along with extended cast list.

Most names, like Karl Urban, are familiar to fans but there’s a head scratcher or two on the cast list. The addition of WWE superstar Dave Bautista sort of makes sense, but who is Keri Hilson and why is she in this movie? Is it heartless and sexist that I assume she’ll play the throwaway hot woman role?

Here’s the cast list and synopsis from Universal.

Vin Diesel as Riddick
Karl Urban as Vaako
Jordi Mollà as Santan
Matt Nable as Boss Johns,
Katee Sackhoff as Dahl
Bokeem Woodbine as Moss
Dave Bautista, Conrad Pla, Raoul Trujillo, Nolan Funk, and Keri Hilson finish the cast.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.

Between fighting aliens once again and the running from mercenaries the plot sounds pretty badass. It’s like a mix of Running Man, Pitch Black, and Judgment Night. OK, maybe that particular Emilio Estevez movie doesn’t fit, but there is running and fighting for your life.

No release date has been announced for Riddick.

At least we’ll only have to deal with a little of the “necromongers”  I was so pissed when they took my realistic, near future space horror movie and made it an opera.  I did like chronicles.. it would have been cool as a stand alone movie.. it just didn’t work for me in the universe already provided.

CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS. I mean, people can say whatever they want about Vin Diesel, but the Riddick character/universe is one of the most badass concepts in recent sci-fi history (even with all it’s cliche’s, but hey – get over it – it’s sci-fi and that’s all that matters, right?).

LOVE the Riddick movies . Have the dvd’s and can’t wait for more. At least it’s not the same old thing over and over like Star Trek, although in its time,Star Trek was great, Riddick is new blood and new awesomeness. Would love to see a time warp back to the furion nation in its heyday kicking ass and taking no names. Maybe some timeline about the war that they lost to the necromongers? So much in unanswered questions and plots in this universe. Use the timeline for some answers about Furion and Riddicks parents, how and why he became hunted… Where is this necromonger army when he needs it to rescue him…
