Extended Trailer For Falling Skies Season Two

The first season of TNT’s alien invasion drama Falling Skies was, let’s call it uneven, that sounds nice. The show has the potential to be something great, but the inaugural foray left something to be desired. Now Falling Skies is back and ready for season number two, with an extended trailer to help kick things off.

Season two picks up right where season one left off, with Tom Mason (Noah Wylie), a former professor who now fights aliens and has a righteous man-beard, getting onto an alien space craft. From the action in the trailer this decision has serious and lasting repercussions. There may have been some mind games going on, there is talk of some sort of chip implanted in his head, and all manner of problems.

In the trailer the look of the world is suitably grim for the landscape after an alien apocalypse. Angry graffiti reminds the rebel forces to keep fighting and not to give up; the survivors are battered, beaten, and grizzled; and the setting and cityscape have been ravaged, reduced to ruins, rubble, and dark, dank hideouts. It is a bleak, desolate world inhabited by a desperate populace pushed to extreme measures. Not a bad set up at all. So the show has that going for it, which is nice.

The two-hour season premiere, entitled “Worlds Apart,” airs Sunday, June 17 on TNT. I can’t help but think, with all the big TV shows currently airing on Sundays—Game of Thrones and Mad Men, among others—Falling Skies may be in a bit of a ratings thrashing. Let’s hope it picks things up this go round, there’s not enough science fiction on the boob tube these days.

Cannot wait for this to start up again

I watched the first couple of episodes, predictable. For instance, the back parasite or whatever the aliens use for the children, I assume that they use the children in the mechs, causing the humans a huge moral dilemma. This hasn’t been spoiled for me, but I’m 99% sure, boring, predictable all been done before. Originality will make money, I’m so tired of the same ideas re-hashed all year long every year.
