It’s a safe bet that that majority of our readers love Star Wars. Even the most shell-shocked among you are at least somewhat intrigued by the prospect of new films (as part of a new trilogy, or as stand-alone features) exploring this particular far, far away galaxy. There’s a ton of minutia in George Lucas’ beloved space opera, and for every planet visited, there are tons place, trade routes, star systems, and more that are mentioned offhand.

Now some enterprising fanatics have taken all of that information and used it to create an extensive map of the Star Wars universe. Check it out below, or click here to see a bigger version, one you can actually read.

I don’t know if this is the end all, be all, but this looks like a pretty damn exhaustive star chart. As much of my life as I’ve given to Star Wars, there are tons of things on here that I’ve never even heard of. The attention to detail, not to mention the obsessive nerdiness of this diagram, is truly impressive.

Lines on the map track the voyages of each of the first six episodes. Granted, there is a great deal more to the Star Wars universe than just the movies—you have countless novels, comics, and The Clone Wars, among other things—but following these paths makes you realize just how little of the galaxy has already been explored via mass media. If nothing else, this shows that there is still ample space for us to roam around in for the upcoming movies, including the J.J. Abrams-directed Episode VII.
