Eoin Colfer Introduces His Doctor Who Short Story, A Big Hand For The Doctor

There are sure to be lots of fun surprises this year as Doctor Who celebrates its 50th anniversary, but the BBC has already announced one project worth following. Beginning this month and running through November, each month will bring us a new Doctor Who short story, one for each incarnation of the Doctor, penned by well-known authors. Up first is writer Eoin Colfer, with his First Doctor story, “A Big Hand for the Doctor.”

The story itself won’t be released until January 23rd (although you can read an excerpt here), but to further intrigue the Whovians amongst us, now we’ve got a video of Colfer introducing his story. Take it away, Eoin:

London, 1900. The First Doctor is missing both his hand and his granddaughter, Susan. Faced with the search for Susan, a strange beam of soporific light, and a host of marauding Soul Pirates intent on harvesting human limbs, the Doctor is promised a dangerous journey into a land he may never forget…
