With a title like “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship” you can be forgiven for getting excited about the next episode of Doctor Who, the second in the newly minted series seven. There are so many things to like about that name.

A pair of new clips have been released to tease the episode, and while there’s nary a dinosaur to be seen—nor will you see a spaceship—these videos should justify any enthusiasm you may feel. The Time Lord (Matt Smith) will encounter all sorts of things on his next adventure, including a couple of… I don’t want to call them companions, so how about temporary associates?

In this first clip he finds himself, as is often the case, entangled with a rather alluring female. And she’s a queen no less. It has to be the bowtie. While in Egypt in 1334, the Doctor catches the attentions of Queen Nefertiti (Riann Steele). He has to get going about his business, but she seems rather reluctant to let him abscond in his Tardis. She probably knows she’ll never see him again. A heartbreaker, that one.

In clip number two, the Doctor once again finds himself in Africa, this time in the year 1902, and on the plains rather than the heart of Egypt. Here he encounters Riddell (Rupert Graves). Like the Doctor, Riddell seems like a bit of an adventure seeker, a precursor to modern day adrenalin junkies. A big game hunter by the look of him, one prone to illicit romantic entanglements from his words, his interest is more than piqued at the prospect of a time-travelling escapade.

Again, neither clip involves space, ships, or dinosaurs, but they do promise that good times loom on the horizon. Doctor Who returns when “Dinosaurs on a Spaceship” airs this Saturday, September 8th.
