Doctor Who Alphabet Of Death Is Morbidly Awesome

In the course of scouring the interwebs for cool things to share with you all, we often run across some really impressive fan art. Every once in a while, however, we stumble across something that makes us want to stand up and give the artist a straight-up, Hollywood-style slow clap. This bit of brilliance known as “The Gallifreycrumb Tinies” is one of those discoveries. I want to drive cross-country just so I can high five the lady who made these.
Created by DeviantArtist extraordinaire Eat Toast, the “Gallifreycrumb Tinies” serves up an alphabet of memorable Doctor Who deaths, all done in the style of Edward Gorey’s The Gashlycrumb Tinies. First published in 1963, Gashlycrumb is a delightfully dark-humored children’s book which serves up a gruesome fate for a series of hapless illustrated children, one for every letter of the alphabet. Here are a couple of Gorey’s original drawings for comparison.
This is seriously now one of my favorite things. I would buy a book version of this without hesitation. You can click on the image below for the full-sized version in all its morbid wonder. Eat Toast…I think I love you.
