Defiance Trailer Has Epic Battles Galore

The more that comes out about Syfy’s upcoming series Defiance, the better it looks. Big set pieces, cool creature effects, and a sprawling, unique story, all come together into what is one of the most promising science fiction series to drop in some time. This brief new trailer puts all of this, and much more, on display. Whether they can ultimately pull it off or not, only time will tell. One thing is for sure, however: Defiance is one hell of an ambitious project.
In the aftermath of an alien invasion, the landscape of our world has shifted and become something akin to the old west. St. Louis is now a frontier-style melting pot of cultures and races, both terrestrial and alien, all competing for space, resources, and survival.
From the look of this video, there appears to be a great deal of political infighting, ethnic conflicts, and some large-scale interspecies warfare. All of this shows a decent amount of potential to kick ass. Epic battle scenes, massive creatures, and alien slugfests are among the most exciting elements of the show. The series stars familiar faces like Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Jaime Murray, and Tony Curran.
At the same time Syfy launches Defiance, the series—which debuts April 25th—they also plan to release a videogame. We’re not talking your usual pixilated adaptation here; this game will share the same universe as the show, and the two will exist on a simultaneous plane. Events from the show will influence how the world of the game changes and evolves.
