Star Trek: The Motion Picture (Netflix Instant)
I’m not sure anyone expected the Star Trek film franchise to become such a beloved part of the genre, given the general blahness that met this first feature. Or maybe it was only looked at negatively after it was followed by the best film of the series, The Wrath of Khan. The penultimate film of director Robert Wise’s long and polished career, this first Star Trek film is somehow more boring than listening to people talk about it. With that in mind, I’ll stop now.
