Intellectual science fiction and Sam Rockwell. Two of my favorite things are wrapped up in one tight and polished 2009 debut feature from director Duncan Jones, who has since gone on to make the time-looping thriller Source Code and the upcoming Warcraft adaptation. Moon is best experienced knowing as little as possible going in, living through astronaut Sam Bell’s days just as he does, noticing when things are amiss just as he does. Plus, Kevin Spacey lends his voice to the A.I. program that Sam uses. They don’t make them like this much anymore.
