Confirmed: Nike Will Sell Back To The Future Themed Shoes With Power Laces!

A few hours ago we told you here about an ominous tweet from Back to the Future producer Frank Marshall promising some sort of big, BTTF themed announcement. At the time we speculated that it might have something to do with rumors that Nike will release shoes with power laces. And now… we know it’s true.

Marshall just tweeted this video, which pretty much confirms the whole thing:

That’s right, power laces are coming.

Here’s hoping hover boards won’t be far behind.

We’ll update you with more details on when and where you can buy them, as soon as Nike makes their big announcement. Someone point me to a store, I’m ready to get in line right now.

Completely awesome. My only problem is that they really shouldn’t make the shoe from the movie. It’s an 80′s version of what a shoe today might look like. why not make normal shoes, but put power laces on them? I have no interest in these because I can’t see wearing them in public.

I’m willing to put up with the humiliation, but you’re right, they need to do a modernized version using the power laces. Maybe they will and the replica is just their way of introducing them.

funny…i just found a story i did in 2008 about the limited run of shoes nike did in the BTTF style. these look the same….and until I see actual power lacing action, i don’t believe.

Yeah I remember those. If they were just the same thing though, I don’t think they’d be making such a big deal out of this.

Oh yeah, definitely. the ones a few years ago were like collector’s items, no power laces. Power laces are key.

There are no Autolaces yet on the market, however AUTOLACE has already been invented, patented and trademarked and is available for license or sale, waiting for a brand or investor to pick up and get to market so these amazing powerlace shoes can be enjoyed by everyone!!
