Len Wiseman’s remake of Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 sci-fi action flick, Total Recall, doesn’t hit Blu-ray until December 18th, but some of the bonus features are starting to trickle out onto the internet for you to take a look at. In this case, there is a newly unveiled deleted scene.

Most of the action in this clip is Melina (Jessica Biel) blasting away bad guys at the controls of a glorified helicopter, while Douglas Quaid (Colin Farell) fistfights a robot. It must hurt like a bastard to punch a robot. They are made out of metal after all. Doesn’t seem to phase ol’ Doug that much, though. Good for him. That’s probably why he’s an action hero and none of us are.

Total Recall wasn’t as terrible as many of us feared it would be. The design looked pretty damn good (okay, it looked like the spawn of Blade Runner), and it was fast-paced, but in the end it was completely empty and forgettable.

For those of you who don’t remember, Total Recall is the story of a bored factory worker, Quaid, who goes to a place called Rekall, that will implant real-seeming false memories into you brain. You can be anything, a movie star, a professional cage fighter, or even, in Quaid’s case, a super secret agent. All of a sudden everyone, including his wife (Kate Beckinsale), is trying to kill him because he plays in integral part in a corrupt politician’s (Bryan Cranston) plan to take over the world.

The home release will come in a three-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, and a two-disc Blu-ray set that includes the theatrical version and an extended cut that includes an extra 20 minutes, as well as a demo reel for the next God of War videogame.
