The post-apocalyptic comedy This Is the End may be worth watching just based on the movie’s all-star cast, which includes Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, and more. The film’s premise seems amusing to say the least — a small group of celebrities have their party in the Hollywood Hills interrupted by the end of the world — and the filmmakers involved are generally consistent with their film releases. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Superbad, Pineapple Express) co-wrote and co-directed This Is the End, which is now one of the most anticipated comedies of the summer.

Columbia Pictures released two new clips from This Is the End that feature a video confession from Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel, while the other features the group of celebrities taking inventory of all their supplies at James Franco’s home in Hollywood. It’s funny to see references to James Franco’s past films: the Academy Award-nominated 127 Hours and the under-watched Flyboys.

This Is the End is based on a short film entitled Jay & Seth vs. The Apocalypse, which Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg co-wrote with Canadian comedy writer Jason Stone in 2007. The cast also features celebrities Emma Watson, Michael Cera, Jason Segel, Paul Rudd, Mindy Kaling, Martin Starr, Kevin Hart, Rihanna, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Aziz Ansari.

This Is the End will hit theaters everywhere on June 12. Although the original short film is not available to watch, you can check out the Jay & Seth vs. The Apocalypse short film trailer below. Hopefully the short itself will be available as a bonus feature on This Is the End‘s Blu-ray/DVD.
