This Badass Avengers: Age Of Ultron Trailer Shows Off Vision, Ultron, And More

If you’re like us, you’ve been waiting for this. It wasn’t supposed to show up until tomorrow, during ABC’s premiere of American Crime, but what the hell, we’re glad it arrived early. And without further ado, here is the new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer. We can talk about it more in minute.
There is so much to love about this trailer. Sitting at my desk alone I cheered out loud multiple times. You’ve got the shot where all of the Avengers leap into the frame from the left, which is epic as all hell.
Captain America (Chris Evans) gets a couple of great moments, like when he says, “I got no plans tomorrow night,” which pretty much encapsulates him in one quick hit, and then there’s the, “You had to ask,” which is just the kind of gallows humor you expect from these movies—I also giggled when Ultron (voiced by James Spader) summons all of minions as a result of Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) taunting.
When trying to “create a suit of armor around the world,” Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) may accidentally doom the entire human race to extinction. He inadvertently creates an artificially intelligent menace and it is up to the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to step up and save the day, if they can. This trailer also plays up the growing rift between Cap and Stark, which most of us assume will come to a head in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, as they have increasingly disparate ideas of how to proceed in this new world.
There’s a just a damn ton of incredible stuff happening here, like more footage of Hulk tangling with Iron Man’s Hulkbuster armor…
…Hulk throwing around Ultron’s robotic goons…
…Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) doing her thing on Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson)…
…Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) cracking Cap across the jaw…
…and much, much more. The biggest reveal, however, is our first footage of Paul Bettany’s The Vision.
Directed by Joss Whedon, Avengers: Age of Ultron opens everywhere on May 1. This is going to be grim and emotional and action-packed and totally awesome. Just when I think I can’t get any more stoked, they up the ante again.
