Artist Travis English Creates Scenic Star Wars Posters In Silhouette
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, movie posters were movie posters. They were designed well, the art was glorious, and you felt good hanging them on your wall. Now the mainstream poster world is plagued by bad Photoshop work and gigantic floating heads that no studio artist can seem to break free from. Thankfully, the masses have taken up pen and sword to combat these design faux pas’.
One such artist is Travis English who has crafted these pretty cool Star Wars posters showing off key scenes from each of the films in the franchise, even the prequels. Scope out a couple below and click over to his Tumblr to see the rest.
It’s hard to top the incredible posters Brit designer Olly Moss whipped up a year or so ago, but these are still really nice. Simple, sleek, and a reminder that there’s a series in there to be loved as long as you just ignore all the versions of the movies released after 1983.
English also created a series of character posters for The Phantom Menace that will make you forget about how bad that movie actually is. Just look at these posters, imagine the movie was done right, and enjoy some really excellent talent. I highly recommend checking out some of his other works as well.
