Transformers: The Ride 3D Will Open At Universal Studios In Orlando In 2013

The Autobots will roll out in 2013. No, Transformers 4 isn’t due in theaters until 2014, but to tide over fans of the shape-shifting robots, Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida will open a new attraction to capitalize on the success of the widely popular series: Transformers: The Ride 3D.
According to /Film.com, Transformers: The Ride 3D will open during the summer of 2013 and will be the same ride as its Hollywood and Singapore counterparts. President and Senior VP of Universal Creative, Mark Woodburry and Thierry Coup, announced the opening and expectations of the new Universal Studio attraction earlier this week. The attraction is currently on a fast-track to completion to meet the 2013 opening date.
The attraction will feature 1:1 scale versions of both Autobots and Deceptacons. The first time fans got to experience a 1:1 scaled Autobot was at the end of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen IMAX, when Optimus Prime shared the screen with Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) in the final moments of the film.
The following is a video of the announcement at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. It features a Peter Cullen-voiced Optimus Prime recruiting humans to help the Autobots against the tyranny of the evil Deceptacons. Megatron also makes an appearance in the two-minute video, but it’s unclear if Hugo Weaving voiced the menacing leader.

Apparently, director Steven Spielberg introduced a bit of creative input with the ride. He conceived of an emergency evacuation of patrons that were being pulled through the interior of an office building. How novel!
