Bill Murray did it for the Star Wars theme song on SNL, isn’t it about time someone came up with lyrics for Star Trek’s theme song too? They have. I can’t promise they’ll be good.

Specifically the lyrics are for the Star Trek: The Next Generation theme and they’re sung by one of those completely self-unaware Trekkies who wears their Starfleet uniform too much and doesn’t realize they look completely ridiculous playing with models and singing about Worf on camera. Most Trekkies are still in the closet, and we like it that way. But this guy is out, proud, and here’s the lyrics he came up with for TNG:
