A few days ago we learned here that Hollywood and Harry Potter director making a Doctor Who movie which will have nothing to do with the current TV series and will basically start Doctor Who over from scratch. Most fans seem to think this is the worst idea anyone ever had, and Steven Moffat it would seem, agrees with you.

Speaking rather cryptically on Twitter Moffat, who is the current showrunner for Doctor Who on television, went out of his way to make it known that he thought there was no way in the world this movie idea would ever get made. He said:

Announcing my personal moonshot, starting from scratch. No money, no plan, no help from NASA. But I know where the moon is – I’ve seen it.

Cryptic, but eventually he connected the dots between his statement and the Who movie.

You have to wonder why David Yates even announced the project to begin with. So far nearly everyone who’s legitimately connected to the Doctor Who universe has come out and said there’s no way this movie will happen. And that’s a good thing, since they’re going about it all wrong anyway.
