This Robot Hand Will Beat You At Rock-Paper-Scissors Every. Single. Time.

What a time we live in when funding goes into research and development for willfully making robots superior to humans. Engineers and programmers from the Ishikawa Oku Lab at the University of Tokyo have developed a robotic hand that will beat its opponent at a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors 100% of the time. This robotic hand leaves no room for error as it defeats you at this simple game.

The robotic hand uses a high speed vision system so fast that its actually cheating but its too fast to even notice. This is how the robots will one day take over the world and destroy all humans.

It only takes a single millisecond for the robotic hand to recognize what shape its opponent’s hand is in and then takes another millisecond to counter their move to beat them. It’s all happening far too quickly for the human to even realize what’s going on as they’re losing. This makes it impossible to counter-act or cheat. Say the human opponent changes their mind mid-way through putting their final choice down, the robot only needs to see the end product to make its move. It’s doubtful the human’s reactions will be quicker than this machine’s high-speed vision system.

Watching this video is really funny if you have a dirty mind. The robotic hand and the human hand are making a very suggestive and naughty hand motion. Hopefully these Japanese engineers and programmers will put this technology to good use, instead of just taking us one step closer to the robots’ eventual takeover.
