If you think the JJ stuff is worse than Nemesis or Insurrection, you are nuts. Those movies were Beyond Poop. Sad as it is, the last two NextGen movies put the series in the ground. It was dead, the next step was Direct to DVD. JJ’s B timeline gives the franchise new life, while not erasing everything that came before it. The new hype can now give birth to new fan, who will watch the olf stuff, like it better, and then in the future continue the defunct A timeline.

Kirk had to die. Not for JJ Abrams bastardisation of Trek, but to free up the old legacy for NextGen.
