Trollhunter Director’s Next Project Is Enormous

Writer/director Andre Ovredal earned a nice bit of buzz a couple years back with his found-footage tale, Trollhunter. (As you might imagine, it’s about a guy who hunts trolls.) For his next project, it sounds like Ovredal is staying within his wheelhouse. He’s working on a multi-media adaptation of the comic series Enormous, which is about, among other things, a bunch of really big (one might even say “enormous”) monsters who begin stomping around and ruining mankind’s good time.

David Fincher Is Producing Halo 4’s Launch Trailer

Microsoft’s Halo franchise has been serving up high-quality, high-budget commercials for years now. It’s the sort of material that has got to rub salt into the wounds of all the fans who are still waiting impatiently for the Halo movie that may never actually arrive. But even if we’ll never get to see the adventures of Master Chief in an honest-to-gosh summer blockbuster, there is a new game on the horizon, and with it comes yet another badass Halo trailer. And this time around none other than director David Fincher is on board to help blow the doors off.

A still from the upcoming Halo 4 live-action trailer.

Radio-Controlled Terminator Hunter-Killer Drone Is Nearly As Cool As The Real Thing

The aerial Hunter-Killer (HK) drones in Terminator are an eerie, sinister enemy of mankind. The way they hover around, blasting the hell out of survivors, and generally doing Skynet’s bidding, is spooky. If you want to see something really cool, check out this video of a radio-controlled HK drone that actually flies.

Don’t Let E.T. Phone Home After Playing This Drinking Game

As is probably the case for many of you, I’m a sucker for a good drinking game. Do a Google search and you can find one to go along with almost every movie you can name. There are some obvious ones, like Dazed and Confused and The Big Lebowski, but a There Will Be Blood drinking game? It’s out there. My personal favorite is the one built into the DVD for the Japanese rock-and-roll zombie romp Wild Zero. An icon in the corner tells you to drink up as zombie heads explode, people comb their hair, someone says “rock and roll,” and fire shoots out of anything.

And even though it is one of the highest-grossing movies of all time, as well as a beloved family classic, that isn’t going to stop Steven Spielberg’s E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial from getting in on the act. That’s right, now you can get tanked while watching E.T.. Okay, you could always do that, but it was never quite this much fun.
