Robot Chicken To Devour The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman

As creator of The Walking Dead, one of comic book writer Robert Kirkman’s calling cards is his willingness to kill off just about anyone at just about any time. He’s a modern master of the unexpected funny-book death, and will feed almost every character you ever loved to a horde of zombies or a psychotic despot. Now it turns out that Kirkman is about to feel a bit of that sting for himself.

The November 18th episode of Robot Chicken, Seth Green’s stop-motion sketch show on Adult Swim, will reportedly serve Kirkman up like a Thanksgiving turkey to a bunch of brain-dead zombies. It should be a bloody, gory, animated affair, as you can clearly see from this first photo.

Frantic New Clip From Battlestar Galactica: Blood And Chrome

Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome, the prequel to Ron Moore’s reimagined BSG series, is one of those shows that feels like it’s been almost here forever. Finally set to premiere this Friday, November 9th, as a web series, the spinoff picks up during the first Cylon war, and promises to be a more action-centric return to that galaxy than the previous attempt, Caprica.

Blood and Chrome will air on Syfy sometime in 2013, with a DVD/Blu-ray release after that if you can wait. Check out this new clip to whet your appetite (but be sure to hit mute when the annoying guy starts talking).

Farscape’s Ben Browder Lands A Role On The CW’s Arrow

For a while there it seemed like Farscape’s Ben Browder had vanished off the face of the Earth…or at least the part of it dedicated to film and television. Aside from a post-Farscape run on Stargate SG-1 and a guest appearance on Chuck, Browder’s resume has been depressingly barren in recent years. That’s incredibly disappointing, because Browder’s performance throughout Farscape was amazing. Fans were thrilled to hear that Browder was going to appear on an episode of Doctor Who earlier this year, only to be disheartened when that episode thoroughly wasted him in a near-nothing role. But now there’s another ray of hope: Browder has signed on for a role in the CW’s DC Comics adaptation, Arrow.

The show is a new spin on DC’s Emerald Archer, Green Arrow. Only a few weeks into its first season, the show has already introduced versions of comic characters such as Deadshot and Deathstroke. IGN reports that Browder will be playing yet another comic-to-screen transplant, albeit a fairly obscure one. In the show trust fund brat/secret vigilante Oliver Queen has revealed his secret identity to his former bodyguard, John Diggle (David Ramsey). Browder will be introduced in the role of Ted Gaynor, a former soldier colleague who served with Diggle in Afghanistan. He is also currently working for the Blackhawk Squad Protection Group…a nice little tip of the hat to the original comics character, who first appeared in Blackhawk #266 in 1984, as a member of the legendary Blackhawk Squadron.

Epic New Poster For Jurassic Park’s 3D Return

Most people around my age remember sitting in a theater sometime in junior high or high school and having our squirmy, adolescent minds blown watching Jurassic Park. It’s hard to believe that was 20 years ago, and it certainly doesn’t feel like two decades have passed. Even with all the advancements in GGI and technology, the creature effects in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of Michael Crichton’s bestselling novel still hold up remarkably well. Every giant monster movie that’s followed is still measured against Jurassic Park.

In honor of this milestone (not to mention being one year away from the legal drinking age), Jurassic Park will get another run in theaters, this time in 3D. While not a huge fan of post-conversion 3D, the chance to see this film on the big screen again is an exciting prospect. It’s going to destroy. The film will hit theaters on April 5, 2013, and a new trailer is slated for release tomorrow. For the moment, however, we’ll have to content ourselves with this new poster.
