GFR never stops looking for talented contributors. When we have a specific opening, it’ll be posted here.
All applicants must be over 18 years of age.
GFR seeks a freelance news writer to cover science related news. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, highly enthusiastic wordsmiths with good common sense and a high level of interest in all things science and science fiction.
Are you excited about Spacex? Seen every Star Trek epsidoe? Follow NASA on twitter? Dream about captaining the Serenity? Hoping a human will land on Mars in your lifetime? More importantly, have you been looking for a place to share your opinions on developments in science and technology? This may be the job for you. We’re looking for a science fanatic capable of converting science news into something that less science literate science fiction fans can get excited about.
Qualified candidates should know how to use basic photo editing software (Photoshop!), have a willingness to work insanely hard, a hatred of clichés, some writing experience and a broad knowledge of and passion for science fiction and science fact.
We’re looking for a creative thinker who’s enthusiastic about science and space exploration; eager to write news, lists and feature editorials on the subject. We pay a small but competitive per-article rate and we’re looking for roughly 65 submissions from you a month. This gig isn’t going to pay your rent, but it is a great way to make your entry into the world of writing about things you love and getting paid for it.
