Well here's a sign that someone over at Disney gets it. Tron tells the story of a man trapped inside a computer, and so it uses an electronica score, of the type that was soon to be sheik in the 80s. While the electronica score is no more, they're resurrecting it for Tron 2.
Upcoming Film Scores reports that Daft Punk has been hired to score the movie. Daft Punk is just about the only well known electronica band left out there and as a bonus, they're pretty awesome. They even, occasionally, dress like Tron. Here's a taste of their music. It's just what Tron needs:
