Remember those really fantastic international Star Trek posters I showed you earlier in the week? Well now it's America's turn for a fresh one sheet, and we're being stuck with this monstrosity, released moments ago on MySpace:

It's like someone spilled ink on a sheet and then called it the Enterprise. I know Paramount is a little leery of associating their movie with anything as geeky as, you know, a Star Trek movie, but hiding the Enterprise behind an old sheet isn't going to make it any less of a science fiction movie.

    I can read, so, I know the entire intarwebs is a-hatin' on the Star Trek poster, but I gotta say, I LOVE it. It's bold and stylish, and it breathes new life into an iconic image - entirely in keeping with everything I've seen from Abram's film. If all that looks like to you is a bedsheet thrown over the Enterprise, I'd suggest this might not be a film you'll enjoy.

    I don't think you can judge whether you'll enjoy a film based on the poster. I mean the trailers look fantastic, the movie looks great. Ultimately it's just a poster. I don't hate it quite as much as some people do, but it really does look like a bedsheet! I get what they're going for though, and like I said, at least it's better than those boring character posters we've had till now.

    Don't you think it could be a warp representation? I'm not even a super trekkie and I thought that might be an explanation.

    Oh that's definitely what it's supposed to be Alex, but it still looks like the Enterprise photographed through an old sheet.
