We've been following Dimension's plan to remake Short Circuit for a couple of months now, in the hopes that someone would eventually come to their senses and kill this idea before our fond memories of Ally Sheedy interacting with a sentient robot could be ruined. No such luck. It looks like this ill-conceived notion is continuing to move forward and they've gone so far as to hire someone to re-write it.
Variety says Dimension Films has hired Dan Milano to script their remake. Milano is probably best known for his work on Robot Chicken where he writes and does character voices. He also co-created Greg the Bunny, which I guess makes him edgy and subversive. If they have to remake Short Circuit, things could be worse.
