apes Planet Of The Apes Prequel Reboot Is Back OnWe've heard rumblings of interest in another Planet of the Apes movie for a couple of years now. Last year Fox even had a script and a director in the form of Scott Frank. Frank wrote a script which seemed, at least in part, based on the story already covered in the 1972 sequel Conquest of the Planet of the Apes.

Since then, Scott Frank left the project, went on to other things, and it stalled. But now NY Mag says its back on. Fox is moving forward again, without Scott Frank directing, but may still use some modified form of his script. Frank's take told the story of how the apes first took over Earth, starting with a super-intelligent ape named Cesar who, as already told in the aforementioned Conquest, leads an ape revolution against humanity.
