Tron 3 Will Be Like Empire Strikes Back, Says Director

TronWhile Joseph Kosinski is getting ready for the release of his new sci-fi film Oblivion starring Tom Cruise in about four months, the director has big plans for the upcoming Tron 3, which was recently announced by Disney. Kosinski wants to explore the Grid and the world of Tron for multiple films, not just Tron 3.

In an interview, Kosinski spoke about how excited he was for starting to work on Tron 3 after Oblivion premieres next April. He wants to make the third film the Empire Strikes Back of the Tron film series. If that were the case, would the original Tron from 1982 be a prequel? Kosinski revealed…

Obviously we hinted some things at the end of Legacy, it’s kind of there for people to see what that potential is. So we just want to make sure that we have a script that delivers on that promise on an epic scale. He continued, I’ve said it would have to be our Empire Strikes Back for me to come back and for me to pull the whole team back together. I think we do have that idea. We do have the idea that feels big and really blows the doors off this franchise. It’s hinted at promises of something for two movies now, for thirty years, so it’s time to deliver on that.

Star Wars Visual Effects Side By Side: Prequels Versus Original Trilogy

Over the past 20 years or so, science fiction movies have benefited from advances in film technology. The emergence of computer-generated imagery (CGI) has dominated most every big budget Hollywood movie. Although the effects look better and more realistic, many believe that something is just missing when it comes to the tangibility of some of these movies.

Let’s look at the complete Star Wars Saga. These films are not just divided by trilogy, but also by decades of filmmaking technology including CGI and Chroma Key . Below is an image that perfectly sums up the differences between the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy. Which trilogy would you rather watch?

Walking Dead Christmas Proves Zombies Love The Holidays Too

With all my heart, I wish this video were a real thing. Can you imagine a show as overly serious as AMC’s The Walking Dead actually staging a Christmas special? I’d love to be a fly on the wall of that meeting; listening to producers argue the pros and cons of a zombie Christmas. You just know there was one guy, the lone exasperated holdout, pulling his hair, practically screaming “what the hell is wrong with all of you?” That would be a good time.

If Robert Kirkman, Glen Mazzara, and company were to make a holiday edition, it would probably look rather a lot like this short.

Mad Max: Fury Road Filming Finally Finished!

This is a day that many of us thought we would never live to see, but George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road, his return to the post-apocalyptic world he first created in 1979, has completed principle photography. At times it seemed as if God himself had a personal vendetta against the production. Miller and company faced multiple delays, including severe flooding. After moving from Australia to Namibia, the production quickly fell behind schedule, and a studio exec was sent in to babysit the troubled set as it limped across the finish line.

Yet somehow they made it through, and, according to Twitch, they’re done with filming part of the program. After a grueling six-month battle against fate and the elements, they can move on to other things. There are still numerous things that can go wrong, and until I’m actually in a theater, with the lights going down, I’ll remain skeptical that the world will ever see another Mad Max movie.
