fb share tweet share

We can’t get enough of Star Wars: Episode VII news, and even if we don’t necessarily want it, it keeps coming our way regardless, in the form of leaks and rumors and unconfirmed reports of all varieties. Today, a slew of leaked concept art hit the web, and while we’re not going to touch them with a ten-foot pole (we don’t want to get sued), there is a lot to talk about. If it sounds like we’re going to get into SPOILER territory beyond this point, that’s because we are. You’ve been warned.

Mark Hamill Addresses Those Huge Episode VII Spoilers

FatherSonThere’s been no shortage of potential spoilers for Star Wars: Episode VII, ranging from leaked concept art to freaking drone surveillance footage. But last week a true whopper hit the interwebs, a potentially massive reveal on the order of “Luke, I am your father.” We’re talking here about a twist so big that it’s sparked a fierce debate about whether anyone should be reporting it at all. Well, the story just got a shade more surreal with the revelation that, whether the rumor proves to be accurate, it definitely isn’t unprecedented, and nor is it the first time director J.J. Abrams has been at least indirectly connected to the idea.

There’s no way to talk about this without, well, talking about it, so flee in the opposite direction unless you’re willing to face down

Star Wars, Spoilers, And What The Hell Are They Thinking?

Star WarsIn this line of work, I’ve become fairly immune to spoilers, partly out of necessity, partly because, as long as the story is structured well, the reveal can still have the appropriate impact. One example is that, going into season three of Game of Thrones, I already knew all about the events of the “Red Wedding.” It’s a hazard of the trade, and since I don’t have HBO and had to wait until it hit Blu-ray months after the fact, there’s only so much you can ask out of the internet. But it is told in such a way that I was still floored when it went down, even though I knew what was going to happen. That’s the sign of a strong story, I knew what was going to happen from a mechanical standpoint, but that didn’t dilute the ultimate impact.

That said, the potential Star Wars: Episode VII spoiler that went wide earlier today, is one that may be too big. I read one headline that describe it as the nuclear bomb of spoilers, and I’m actually having trouble wrapping my head around it. This is something that, if it does turn out to be true, indelibly alters something I’ve passionately loved most of my life. (I was born in May, 1977, and have lived a total of 17 days in a world without Star Wars, that’s it.) Some of my earliest, fondest memories revolve around the franchise, but right now I’m still in a mild state of shock over what I just reported.

Jurassic WorldWe’re well over a year away, but that’s not going to stop us from getting pumped up for Jurassic World, the fourth installment of the revived Jurassic Park franchise. If you want to go into the film without knowing anything, be warned there are SPOILERS ahead, so you should stop reading. But if you want to find out some more potential plot details of director Colin Trevorrow’s (Safety Not Guaranteed) return to Isla Nublar and lab-grown dinosaurs, by all means, read on. There’s nothing completely Earthshaking, but there are some interesting pieces of news that could make for a pretty good time at the movies.

JoBlo apparently has a source near to the production, which is currently underway in Hawaii, where the previous installments filmed. Whoever this mystery person is, they’re quite the chatty Cathy, spilling details left and right. Some of these tidbits are reiterations of things we’ve heard before, while a few others are of the newer variety.

Conan O’Brien Responds To Star Trek Into Darkness Spoiler Accusations With More Spoilers

The subject of Star Trek Into Darkness spoilers has been a hot topic for months, and it certainly hasn’t been helped in recent days that the movie opened a week early in the U.K., meaning you’ve had to make a concerted effort to stay the hell away from internet comment threads if you wanted to go in unspoiled. It turns out that Conan O’Brien’s TBS show recently included what at least one website interpreted as a major spoiler bomb during a funny Trek-related video last week. We’ll explain the situation in full below, but first we’re going to focus on the way O’Brien addressed the subject after being called out on it by That response is the video above, which proves true that time-honored wisdom: one good accidental spoiler deserves a half-dozen fake ones.

At the bottom you can see the original Conan video that stirred up this ruckus, but be warned: unintentional or no, it may contain one great big giant
