The history of Hollywood if full of “What Ifs.” What if Freddie Prinze Jr. was Spider-Man? What if Jeremy Irons played Hannibal Lector? What if Carey Grant was the first James Bond? What if Johnny Depp landed the part of Ferris Beuller? What if Eric Stoltz stayed Marty McFly? The list of such now outlandish seeming scenarios, where another actor almost played an iconic role, is damn near endless. One of the most intriguing of these is the possibility that Al Pacino could have been Han Solo. If you’ve ever wondered what that might look like, with Pacino bringing a little Scarface style menace to the role, check out this animated clip.

Just a warning if you’re watching this at work, keep the volume low, there’s a swear.

Star Wars: Here’s What Aaron Paul Has To Say About That Han Solo Movie

han solo star warsWith Star Wars: The Force Awakens now less than a year away, that’s obviously been the hot topic of discussion when it comes to Star Wars, but there’s so much else going on. Not only are the Episode movies in the works, but Lucasfilm has a handful of standalone movies on the way as well. At the tail end of December, we heard that the first film could focus on some version of Han Solo and feature Aaron Paul. That, however, was apparently news to the Breaking Bad star.

Even though Paul was linked to the film, and possibly up for one of the leads, there was no word on what his role would be and whether or not he was being considered to play the iconic space rogue. Though he doesn’t really fit the mold, so it’s easy to assume they were talking about another character. The initial report said he was “looking to be attached” to the film, whatever the hell that means, but according to this tweet, that’s not the case:

The First Star Wars Spinoff May Focus On Han Solo And Star This Breaking Bad Vet

Han SoloWith that trailer that dropped after Thanksgiving, not to mention the fact that the release date is now less than a year away, the majority of the attention paid to Star Wars is focused on The Force Awakens, understandably so. But there is, of course, a ton of other stuff happening in the ever expanding Star Wars universe. This latest report has to do with the first of the standalone films, and also happens to contradict some of what we have already heard.

We know that Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) will direct the first standalone film, but up to now we’ve generally heard that it will focus on fan-favorite bounty hunter Boba Fett. According to Making Star Wars and their sources, however, it might have closer ties to The Force Awakens than we thought, as Han Solo could be the protagonist. They also heard that Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul might be one of the leads. Paul is “looking to be attached” to the film, and that could mean anything from he’s talked to people about it to him just wanting to be in a Star Wars movie. Whatever the reality of the situation, itt sounds unlikely that this character is not the beloved scruffy-looking nerf herder.

That’s about all we know for sure (except for that whole broken leg thing), but at least it’s something. We’ve heard rumors and unofficial reports about what he might be up to, but that’s all it is at this point. Still, if this latest bit of information has any truth to it, it could be a fun little nod to longtime fans of the franchise.

Star WarsLet the deluge of Star Wars: Episode VII rumors continue. Abrams-directed space opera, hints about important flashbacks, and rumors about who the villain(s) might be (including a concept artist’s rendition of one of them). That makes for a busy day, but that’s not all. Now we have heard rumors about the vehicle, or at least one, that Han will be driving around that far, far away galaxy.

Star Wars Episode VIIAt this point, we don’t know much about J.J. Abrams’ upcoming >Star Wars: Episode VII, and odds are we won’t get much concrete detail until the movie actually opens on December 18, 2015. One thing we all suspect, however, is that Harrison Ford’s Han Solo, that loveable rogue, that scruffy looking Nerf Herder, will play a major role. And now, thanks to some concept art that has leaked onto the internet, we have a better idea of what he might look like.

Yesterday we got our first look at a possible stormtrooper redesign, and these come from the same source. There are a couple different looks in these pictures that, at least on the surface, tell us a little about what we could encounter in Episode VII. If this first image is any indication, we’re going to go somewhere cold, like Hoth cold. You’ll need a sturdy, fur-lined coat in a place like that.
