Tru Blood is soon to return to HBO, for another season of gritty, awesome, vampire action. To celebrate the start of the new season on June 14th, HBO has released three awesome Tru Blood season 2 posters:

Michael Chabon Writing John Carter Of Mars?

Pixar’s big screen adaptation is still underway and they’ve hired the writer of Spider-Man 2 to help them make it happen. Screenwriter Michael Chabon tells a fansite:

I’ve been hired to do some revisions to an already strong script by Andrew Stanton and Mark Andrews. I wrote my original screenplay The Martian Agent back in 1995 because I wished I could do [Edgar Rice] Burroughs’s Barsoom. So this is pretty much a dream come true for me.”

Trailer For MOON

Moon is the newest entry in the wannabe 2001 genre. Or maybe it’s the wannabe Solaris genre. Take your pick. This one though, actually pulls it off. Sam Rockwell is left alone on the moon, and he finds something very strange out on the lunarscape inside a crashed crawler. See what’s in the crawler, by watching the first trailer for MOON right here:

Star Trek Clip 3: Spock Getting Angry?

I know Spock is half-human, but I thought he had that side of him under control. Isn’t it supposed to be repressed? Maybe not so much, at least that’s the way it looks in the newest clip from Star Trek. Or maybe Kirk really is just that annoying. Take a look:

Trailer: Rodriguez Summons Aliens With A Wishing Rock

When he’s not making awesome comic book movies and zombie grindhouse flicks, filmmaker Robert Rodriguez has a second career as a low-budget Walt Disney. His sci-fi oriented kid’s movies like Spy Kids and Shark Boy and Lava Girl never really seem to crossover to adults, but kids seem to love them. At worst, maybe they’re a way to launch pliable young imaginations into a bigger, better, sci-fi world.

The trailer for Rodriguez’s latest kid-effort has arrived. It’s called Shorts and it seems to be about a wishing rock which summons miniature aliens. Or something. Take a look:

New Trek TV Spot Gets Kirk In A Bar Fight

I don’t think I’ve ever seen any movie marketing blitz get this intense this early. Star Trek is still more than a month off but barely a day passes without Paramount releasing something new and cool from the film. Who’s complaining? Not me.

Here’s the latest. A brand new TV spot from the movie featuring great new footage in which James Tiberious Kirk gets in one hell of a bar fight. Watch it:

Star Trek Gets A PG-13

Along with the rating Paramount has also sent out new Trek images. Take a look:

Watchmen: Director’s Cut Coming To Theaters!

watchmen Watchmen: Directors Cut Coming To Theaters!Warner Bros. announced at ShoWest this week that they plan to re-release Watchmen in theaters for a limited run this summer. Here’s the report from our sister site CB:

As previously announced, the director’s cut will add in some material from the graphic novel that Snyder hated cutting but had to. Among the material is a bit more with the original Nite Owl, Hollis Mason, specifically the character’s death, which adds some weight to the story that was lacking in the current cut. The plan is to release the director’s cut of Watchmen into Los Angeles and New York theaters in July.
